The Short-term Research Grant program ran from 2003 to 2013, giving grants to over 95 scholars to consult distant archives not otherwise accessible to them. These grants were awarded primarily to current candidates for, and recent recipients of, the Ph.D., as well as historians early in their careers, from institutions across the United States and abroad.
